Airport seating
AIRPORT SEATING
Over the years, we have designed a number of public seating systems. The first of the ranges Concourse was designed specifically for BAA and Heathrow airport. It is manufactured by Eglin Concourse both in the UK and Asia and has won numerous major contracts for international airports across the globe.
The design has taken an evolutionary form and is constantly being updated.
The many different ranges that we have designed have been constructed using a variety of manufacturing methods.
Concourse, has a die-cast seat and back shell, which when joined together, forms an integral beam without
needing any supporting structure below.
The second, PS, has either ply formed or perforated steel seat and backs.
PS was developed for both interior and exterior use, suitable for both hot and cold climates.
The distinctive feature common to these ranges is the ‘Y’ shaped cast aluminium leg, which was designed to tie in with the shapes of architectural roof structures found in many contemporary airport buildings.
Manufacturing Process - These images show the first production shells being adjusted straight from the moulds in the UK foundry.
The highly engineered diecast seat and back shells, when joined together, form an integral beam without any need for a supporting frame.
